Reportedly, some media members from MBC accompanied

The members of the handsome ‘Kyu-line’ from SM Entertainment recently got together.
On September 5th, Kyuhyun tweeted, “The legendary Kyu-line met up once again after a long time..” and uploaded the above picture.
In the picture, Kyuhyun poses together with SHINee’s Minho and TVXQ’s Changmin.
Because the three men are known for their good looks in their

It has just been revealed that Korean idol group MBLAQ will be singing the new opening theme for the popular Nippon TV anime, “Beelzebub“!
When asked about their first anime tie-up, the group excitedly replied, “All of the members love Japanese anime, so we’re very happy to be able to be in charge of the opening theme!” The
song is currently untitled and has no confirmed release date, but it
has been confirmed that this song will be the group’s second official
Japanese single.
MBLAQ made their debut in Japan with the single “Your Luv” in May. Within the first week of it’s release, the single shot up to second place on Oricon‘s Weekly Single Ranking, garnering popularity with their cool dancing and smooth vocals.

The nature of the K-Pop industry these days is to pit idol groups
against each other, and oftentimes, reporters will ask a group about who
they feel their rivals are. U-KISS recently confessed that they felt their #1 opponents were themselves, not other groups.
On September 6th, YTV‘s ‘News ‘n Issue’ interviewed U-KISS and asked them to name their rivals. The boys sincerely answered that it was themselves.
They explained, “Rather than thinking that we have to beat someone, we’ve always thought that we were our worst opponents,” and that “If we try hard to surpass ourselves, we believe there will be success in our future”.
Members Soo Hyun, Kevin, and Dong Ho have indeed been trying to challenge themselves by taking on acting. Soo Hyun and Kevin participated in the musicals ‘Chorus Line’ and ‘On Air Live’ respectively, while Dong Ho made appearances in movies and dramas.
Soo Hyun stated, “While doing the musical, I shed tears because I
was reminded of the memories leading up to the debut. It was a good
experience.”
Kevin also chimed in with his thoughts on his musical debut, saying, “Despite
being my first musical, it was a good experience. My role was that of
an idol, which was convenient for me. I want to keep acting.”
Since they’ve never won on a music program before, U-KISS has made it
their goal to win 1st place for the first time with their 2nd official
album, ‘Neverland’.

Shortly after MBC‘s ‘We Got Married‘ announced that the famous ‘Khuntoria‘ couple would be leaving the show, 2PM‘s Nichkhun left a message on his Twitter, thanking his fans for the immense love and support they’ve shown ‘Khuntoria’.
On September 6th, Nichkhun tweeted, “I am but thankful for all
the support we’ve received for over a year and 3 months. We only hope
that what will last are the good memories. Thank you always for your
love and support”.
Since June of 2010, Nichkhun has been in a virtual marriage with f(x)‘s leader Victoria
on the widely popular show, “We Got Married”. They’v both received a
generous amount of popularity as one of the hottest ‘newlyweds’ on the
show, thanks to Nichkhun’s sweet antics and Victoria’s charm as a wife.
Due to clashes in their busy schedules, however, it was decided that
both Nichkhun and Victoria would step down for a brand new celebrity
couple to take their place.
Khuntoria’s final episode will be aired this coming September 17th.
Super Junior was on the front cover for the September edition of Ceci China, and they’ve set a new record as every copy was sold out in a matter of a single day.
According to a Ceci representative, it was highly effective to model
Super Junior on the front cover of Ceci China, as all copies were sold
out in 24 hours. Ceci China is currently being sold in major cities in
and around China such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The concept
for their cover photo shoot was a crime scene, and the boys are dressed
as suspects, prosecutors, detectives and reporters, as if telling a
story.
Ceci China’s VP remarked, “Super Junior is already well-known in
China for being leading stars of the Hallyu wave, but this was
reconfirmed after our September edition was able to sell out in just a
single day. In the future, we plan to continually introduce Korean
Hallyu stars and exchange both Korean and Chinese cultures.”
Ceci launched Ceci China in June of 2008, and Ceci China is currently
being picked by Chinese women as the leading source for Asian trends
and fashion.
Meanwhile, Super Junior continues to actively promote their album, despite their fellow member Kim Hee Chul enlisting in the Korean military service. On the 2nd through the 4th, Super Junior performed in Japan at the Tokyo Dome with their fellow SM family members including TVXQ, SNSD, BoA, and SHINEE for SMTOWN LIVE IN TOKYO, and 5,000 to 15,000 Japanese fans gathered to watch them perform each day.

Girl’s Day spoke out about their controversial ‘diaper fashion’ that became an issue in May.
During an interview with TVReport, member Mina(18) addressed the issue with, “They weren’t diapers but rather, short pants. We were more conscious about our wardrobes after that, however.” Hyeri (17) added, “People definitely paid more attention to us after that. We tried to be more mindful of our outfits afterwards.”
On May 29th, a video of the girls singing in green mini-skirts was
revealed on the internet and it quickly became a controversial issue,
especially because Mina and Haeri are still underage.
Their agency commented, “Their short pants got shuffled during their dance routine, that’s all.”
Looks like today won’t be a good day for “We Got Married” fans — on the heels of the news that the David Oh – Kwon Ri Sae couple will be leaving from the show, Nichkhun and Victoria (known as the ‘Khuntoria‘ couple) will also be getting a ‘divorce’ from the popular MBC reality show. “Two couples will be leaving the program in the middle of September,” stated a representative for MBC. “We’re in the middle of recruiting a new couple.” With the departure of two couples, it will be interesting to see how ‘We Got Married’ plans on filling the gaps.
Girl group 4minute‘s leader Nam Jihyun recently uploaded a selca revealing her mature beauty.

On September 4th, the artists of SM Entertainment met with reporters after they successfully concluded their ’SM TOWN LIVE IN TOKYO SPECIAL EDITION‘ concerts in Tokyo, Japan.
Since Korea will soon be celebrating its Thanksgiving holiday, the artists were asked what they wished for the future. H.O.T.‘s Kangta answered, “My only wish is that I marry in two years,” and jokingly added, “This is a problem that only I have out of all the artists in SM Entertainment.” SNSD‘s Tiffany gave a sweet response to the question, saying, “I
want my SM family to be healthy, and I hope that everyone continues to
cheer on and love SNSD and all the SM artists who have albums coming out
in the fall.” BoA replied, “I have more of a personal wish. I have a movie called ‘Cobu 3D‘ being released soon. “It’s
currently in the editing process, but I hope that everything, including
the editing, goes smoothly and that the movie can be announced to the
public soon.”
In related news, the artists of SM Entertainment will soon be
shifting their world tour from Tokyo to New York City, where they plan
to hold a concert at Madison Square Garden for October 23rd.
On September 4th, SM Entertainment’s maknae group f(x) announced that they’ll be making their official Japanese debut in January of 2012!
f(x) successfully introduced themselves to several thousand Japanese fans at the ‘SM TOWN Live in Tokyo‘ concerts with their hit tracks, “La Cha Ta“, “Chu“, “Hot Summer“, and “Pinocchio“.
The girls stated, “It’s an honor to perform in the Tokyo Dome.
We’ve brought with us some good news — we’ll be officially promoting in
Japan starting next year. We’ll return to Japan with a more mature
image, so please wait for us.”
In the press conference after the concert, leader Victoria elaborated, “Every
time we perform at the SM concerts, I think that we learn a lot from
our seniors and come away with the determination to work harder. Early
next year, we’ll be making our debut, so we want to take this
opportunity to get our name out there. I hope that when we make our
debut next year, we’ll receive a lot of support from our Japanese fans.”
Fans don’t have to wait any longer for G-Dragon‘s solo comeback, as Big Bang‘s G-Dragon is set to return with his solo on October!
Next month, G-Dragon is scheduled to reveal his mini album and start
his solo activities on October for the first time in a year and a half.
It was revealed that G-Dragon is currently working on last-minute
items for his songs and will select his title song soon, in addition to
envisioning his album concept. A YG Entertainment representative stated, “Because
we are still writing songs for his album, we haven’t decided on his
title song. When we are done, we will decide on the album concept.”
Many agencies are reportedly reconsidering other artists’ comeback
dates that were set for October as G-Dragon is expected to overpower
music charts with his solo comeback. One music industry stated, “From September, KARA, SNSD, and Brown Eyed Girls
are planned to comeback. In addition to that, it’s hard to find a place
for rookie singers with G-Dragon coming back on October.”
With Daesung‘s car accident, Big Bang members are focusing on their individual activities, starting with G-Dragon’s solo comeback.
Singer Rain (Bi), who was previously found not guilty for embezzling company, J Tune Creative‘s (a clothing company) funds, has been called in for a re-investigation.
Previously, Rain was sued on charges of embezzling company money as
modeling compensation for a company that he’s a major stockholder in.
He was later cleared of wrongdoing. On September 4th, however, the
Seoul Central Prosecutors’ Office announced that they have ordered
a re-investigation of the case.
The Seoul Central Prosecutors’ Office found that J Tune Creative, the
company he’s the largest shareholder in, had deposited $2.255 million
USD, nearly 50% of their company funds, to Rain in one instance when
Rain never acted as a model for the company. In addition, the pay was
said to have been too excessive in comparison to other models.
The court also said that there needed to be further investigations
into the $30,000 USD used for a personal transportation lease and the
$47,000 USD used for office rental.
In the coming weeks, girl group Rainbow will be officially beginning debut promotions for their first Japanese single, “A“.
Rainbow departed for Tokyo on September 3rd, where they will be
completing their final, last minute preparations before the official
release of “A” on September 14th. A total of 20 mega electronic display
boards and billboards advertising Rainbow’s upcoming album have already
been installed on the busiest streets of Shibuya, Tokyo.
Around 50 fans were present at the Haneda Airport to welcome the
girls’ arrival. Many fans even following them throughout the night as
they headed out to restaurant for dinner and their hotel rooms.
Rainbow has already been garnering hot interest for their music even
before their official debut. Rainbow’s “A” reportedly placed #1 on
Japan’s biggest online ringtone chart, Rekochoku, on August 31st, the same day of the ringtone’s release.
From September 4th onwards, Rainbow will be taking part in various
media interviews, broadcast appearances and album release events as part

B2ST’s Lee Kikwang has been caught up in a smoking controversy.
On July 19th, photos were posted online with the caption, “Photos of Lee Kikwang smoking. Real or not?“. Though the photo quality makes it difficult to determine 100% whether or not the man seen is truly Kikwang, netizens have had a field day because of the topic’s title alone.
Kikwang’s agency, Cube Entertainment, responded to the controversy with, “We’re not sure whether it is Kikwang in the picture. Even if it is, he is of legal age to smoke in Korea, so we fail to see the issue.”
Quite frankly, we’re more impressed with the fact that Cube Entertainment released such a bold, yet true statement about the issue (if it is indeed Kikwang with smokes in his hand).

Inspired by the title of Sofia Coppola’s movie, ‘The Virgin Suicides‘, the concept for the photoshoot was to document a couple enjoying some late-night fun.
Amber, with her pretty boy image, was dressed in a men’s shirt and jacket, which presented the look of a mischievous young boy you’d meet on a London street. Meanwhile, Victoria executed the look of a sexy, yet cute girl with her short skirt and big wavy hair.
Actress Seo Woo showed off her lovely charms for ‘Elle Girl‘ through a concept entitled, ‘Traveling Alone.’
The fashion point to note here are the ‘missing-bottom’ pieces, which get a pop of color with her bright red shoes. Although Seo Woo delivered a sexy gaze for the camera, it’s said that she brought a bubbly energy to the set.
Seo Woo has been taking some time off after she wrapped up her MBC drama, ‘Flames of Desire.’ “I spent most of my time at home. I would roll around in bed after I woke up,” the actress smiled, explaining that it was a very happy time for her.

To say B2ST have come a long way from their 2009 debut is something of an understatement. It has taken them several mini-albums and overcoming a rough start to get to where they are now, but they’ve worked hard, grown, and developed into quite the force amongst the boy bands of today.
When B2ST debuted, one of the very first pieces of information to surface about these six (Dong Woon, Doo Joon, Hyun Seung, Jun Hyung, Ki Kwang, and Yo Seob) was that they were either failed solo artists, idol rejects, or something in between. They came from a purgatory of sorts; misfits taken in by the talent agency Cube Entertainment, who gave them another chance at the stardom few of them were oh-so close to achieving.
Acknowledging the pasts of say, Hyun Seung – the member who was a hair away from making it into theBig Bang – or Ki Kwang – aka AJ, the forgotten solo artist – is crucial to fully appreciating the music of B2ST and all of their achievements thus far.

Musically, B2ST began as a cookie-cutter, run of the mill boy band that offered nothing more than the same old auto-tuned vocals sold on a silver platter of abs and biceps. B2ST’s singing voices, even Yo Seob’s at the time, were close to mediocre with little sense of unity as a group. They were average at best, and with a group as precise as SHINee overshadowing all rookies during that time period, B2ST’s 2009 debut fell to a lackluster standard and left very little to savor.
However, B2ST possessed something that other rookies seemed to have lacked, and it’s what ultimately kept them reappearing on the scene time and time again: B2ST had a drive to lay it all out there – the good and the bad. You didn’t need to have followed B2ST through every single variety show or waking hour of their existence to see their thirst to always be better. It was evident from one mini-album to the next and in the consistency of their performances. Many groups go up and regress, but B2ST have been getting better as a pop group season after season.

As they trickled teasers for their “Fiction And Fact” album this week, the improvement from their previous endeavors to where they are now is monumentally impressive this time.
It was a very risky move to release an album full of mellow overtones rather than something filled with pounding beats and drilling synths (as B2ST have done before), but they have somehow managed to inject those idiosyncrasies into “Fiction And Fact” without overwhelming the softness of it all.
The album opens with “The Fact” (video above); this song is short enough to be considered an intro-track, but long enough to enjoy as a full song. “The Fact” is slow and features a simple instrumentation with a chiming guitar part. Like in last year’s releases, the production of this song and the rest of this album is stellar. Right from the start, there’s a clear indication that B2ST wont be recycling any of their old styles (like they did from “Shock” to “Soom“), which is always a challenge for a pop group. This time, they have gone down an R&B road while successfully keeping it 100% pop with very melodic structures and phrases.

“Fiction” transitions almost flawlessly from “The Fact”, laying down those very same heart-wrenching melodies you hear in the first song.
About a year ago, I had argued that it was the production that brought B2ST to life, but today, it’s the complete opposite. The production in “Fiction” is like a final gloss layered above a well sung and well delivered lead single. When you can strip away an amazing production from a song and still have the remains of something brilliant, that’s when you know you’ve nailed it.
As a song, one of the best parts of “Fiction” is the chorus, not because it’s catchy, but because of the way it was pieced together. There are essentially two things going on: a broad set of lines (sung by Hyun Seung and Yo Seob the first time around) and an underlying base, i.e. “fiction in fiction.” It’s so subtle, but remove one of those two things and the entire feeling is lost. It’s that kind of attention to structure that I’m impressed to hear out of Cube Entertainment right now, and guess what – it happens several times in this album.
After School’s Jungah shared a lovely-looking selca!

On July 16th, the much-loved Khuntoria couple finally held their beautiful wedding ceremony on MBC’s ‘We Got Married‘!
Hosted by fellow 2PM member Wooyoung, Nichkhun impressed his bride by preparing a hand-written letter for her. He shyly confessed, “I know that there are still many things I haven’t been able to do for you, but Victoria-ssi, I am prepared to make you the happiest woman in this world. I love you.”
Victoria replied with a wide smile, as she said, “I’m always grateful for you. Nichkhun-ssi, I love you too.”
The two wrapped up their ceremony with a passionate hug that reduced the remaining 2PM members to a burning envy. Putting their jealous feelings aside, they congratulated the newlyweds with a fun performance.
The couple then headed to a yacht after their wedding ceremony, and Nichkhun began bringing up plans of having children, causing Victoria to freeze on the spot.

for the support they received at SBS’s ‘Inkigayo‘.

Earlier in the week, the boys of INFINITE announced that they’ll be making their comeback this month! Having released their their 3rd mini-album “Mona Lisa” earlier this week, the MBLAQ boys begun their comeback promotions on tonight’s KBS Music Bank. Their title song “Mona Lisa” is a Spanish electronic dance track that was produced by Ji In, Wontag, and Rado – the head producers of MBLAQ’s entire comeback album. Instead of using synth instruments, the song is filled with analog instruments to differentiate itself from the styles MBLAQ previously performed. Living up to their nickname of being ‘chic idols’, the song’s characteristic is its chic charm.
The lyrics itself compares an unattainable woman’s facial expression to the Mona Lisa and expresses one man’s passionate desire for her love. Check out their comeback stage below!
On Naver’s recent “First Half of 2011 Music Chart” for digital downloads, f(x)’s “Pinocchio” and SECRET’s “Shy Boy” ranked 4th and 6th, respectively.
Counting only girl idol groups, these two respective groups were the top 2 on the Naver Chart with f(x) being 1st and SECRET being 2nd.
Last year, which was when girl groups were all the rage in K-pop, neither f(x) nor SECRET were included on the top 10 downloads chart for Naver.
On last year’s “2010 Naver Music Digital Download Chart“, miss A, 2NE1, and SNSD were the only girl groups listed on the chart, where miss A’s “Bad Girl Good Girl” was ranked number 1, 2NE1’s “Go Away” ranked 3rd, and SNSD’s “Oh!“, “Hoot”, and “Run Devil Run” were ranked 7th, 9th, and 10th, respectively.
Although girl groups were continuing their rising trend popularity for the first half of 2011, f(x) and SECRET made their stand as new leaders. Both SNSD and miss A weren’t active in the first half of 2011 as they didn’t release any albums, while 2NE1’s “Lonely” and Park Bom’s “Don’t Cry” arrived too late to overcome the bars already set by SECRET’s hit songs, “Shy Boy” and “Starlight Moonlight“, as well as f(x).
f(x)’s popularity was most apparent as although they released “Pinocchio” in late April, they had ranked the highest of all girl groups for Naver’s chart.
